As the end of the year draws closer, Employment Screening Services is celebrating our 25th anniversary and looking forward to the future.
“What a journey the past 25 years have been,” said Sheila Benson, the company’s founder and CEO. “It is humbling to review our history because I know we would have never made it without the support of some very loyal customers and the incredible dedication of our employees.”
ESS has thrived under Benson's leadership and the operational expertise of the Chief Operating Officer, Jason Kimbrell, who joined the company shortly after its inception.
The company is recognized nationally as one of the top providers in the background screening industry. ESS recently earned coveted recognition in the Baker’s Dozen 2019 Satisfaction Ratings – placing in the top two service providers against 60 different national firms. 2019 also marked ESS’s 13th appearance on the Inc. 5000 list, a feat that only 12 companies have been able to achieve in the list’s 37-year history.
“It has always been my goal to provide our clients with a level of responsiveness and service that demonstrates their importance,” Kimbrell said.
With a 98% client retention rate, that operating philosophy seems to be working. ESS now helps more than 5,000 clients build and effectively manage their background screening and drug testing programs.
“When we first opened ESS, we had aspirations of how high we could go,” explained Kimbrell. “We were always flexible in meeting challenges – so It’s been exciting to see us grow from a small player in the industry to a top-ten provider.”
ESS recently commemorated this milestone anniversary with employees during Heritage Days, an annual event to reflect on the company’s culture and core values.
Said Kimbrell, “We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with our valued clients over the holidays as we look ahead to the next 25 years.”
