Employment Screening Services (ESS) abides by all regulations set forth by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the federal law that regulates the collection, dissemination and use of consumer information for background screening. In addition to the federal laws, many states have enacted state specific requirements that place greater limitation on the background screening process than the federal requirements. As a Consumer Reporting Agency, ESS cannot provide legal advice, but we are committed to providing our clients with educational materials which can assist them with their background screening process.
